As people have more and more electrical appliances in their homes, their homes are easy to overload or often jump off buildings, which will also cause electrical damage.
According to the survey, the average residential fire every year about 12, 5 of them are caused by short circuit, that is, short circuit accounted for about 42% of the residential fire, household electricity is more and more important.
What kind of circuit breaker do you need?
Simens GFCI circuit breakers can be installed in circuit panels in your house.Unlike normal circuit breaker panels, GFCI circuit breaker panels are typically larger and have their own test and reset buttons to protect against ground faults. One of the benefits of a GFCI circuit breaker is adequate protection against docking faults. All installed electrical sockets will have full ground fault circuit protection.
Simens GFCI circuit breakers can be a good choice when a circuit and everything connected to it require ground-fault protection. They are required in all 125-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-ampere receptacles in locations such as finished basements, hallways and closets, kitchens, laundry areas and bedrooms.
It is not necessary to have GFCI receptacles on a circuit that is protected by a GFCI circuit breaker.
Schneider AFCI circuit breakers protect against an unintentional electrical discharge in an electrical cord or wiring that could cause a fire. Once the breaker senses the electrical jump and abnormal path, it instantly disconnects the damaged circuit before the arc builds enough heat to catch fire.
Arcs generally occur due to worn or damaged electrical cords and wiring. Regular circuit breakers don’t always trip in these instances because standard breakers are designed to respond to a sustained amount of heat, not a quick surge.
When having a Schneider AFCI circuit breaker, Best installed in the kitchens, family rooms, dining rooms, living rooms, parlors, libraries, dens, bedrooms, sunrooms, recreation rooms. And National building codes also require AFCI breakers be used instead of standard breakers in new homes.
How to calculate the number of high bay lights you need?
There are three parameters which are the most important, amperage capacity of circuit breaker, the load voltage and the wattage of light. It decides the number of the lights can run on the circuit breaker. For safety reasons, the total amperage used by the lights on the circuit must not exceed 80% of the circuit breaker’s rating. How can we calculate that?
Method :
Calculate the total power based on the voltage and current parameters. Then according to the total power ratio to the power of a single lamp to get the maximum number of lights used.
Formulas:
1. Voltage = the voltage of the light installed
2. Amps = 80% × the amperage capacity marked on circuit breaker
3. Wattage = the wattage of light
4. Number = the number of the lights you can install
5. The formula: Number = Voltage × Amps / Wattage
For example:
1. Install 150watt light on 20Amps circuit breakers and the voltage is 110V.
2. Number = 110V × 20A × 0.8 / 150W=11.7
3. We suggest you install 11pcs 150watt lights on the 20Amp circuit breaker.
Note:
1. If you have other devices installed, this formula does not apply.
2. You need to figure out the total wattage of the other devices.
3. P(total) = the total wattage of the other devices
4. The new formula: Number = (Voltage × Amps - Ptotal) / Wattage
Summary:
DIY the lamps and lanterns by yourself that would be a great joy, not only lighting quality increased, but also bring more joy to the family. Electricity is very dangerous, and we should use it with caution. It would be wise to hire an electrician to check the circuit for you before connecting it to the mains supply.
